Once In A Lifetime Sighting

Just over two years of living in the bush, and every single day still has its amazing surprises! We were headed to the hardware shop first thing this morning because I have big (long overdue) gardening plans now that the weather is a bit cooler. But then, our neighbours were parked in the middle of the road, in front of their driveway…

At first, I thought it might be a Black Mamba enjoying his Puff Adder breakfast. Peter was convinced it was a Mozambican Spitting Cobra – he has met a few around our pool, so I suppose he should know by now! When we got home I researched it a bit and enlarged the image as much as I could. I am persuaded that it was a Mozambican Spitting Cobra! Unfortunately, the image is not great – I didn’t have my camera with me, but WOW! what an amazing sighting! (I am happy to be corrected if it was a Black Mamba, but I don’t think so).

The gardening urge has left me for some reason. I’m thinking tomorrow might be a perfect day for gardening:-) #zebraonmystoep #marlothhparkdirectory#letitiamatthews
